'Avant-garde' make up is often used in magazine photography and runway shows that require experimental theme. Its nature pushes away the known boundaries of acceptable art --it's unique, inspiring, intriguing and beautiful! Below are five very inspiring avant-garde looks that truly illuminates the immeasurable beauty of art.

Beauty knows no color, nor can it easily be hidden in such a face as this in which even with eyes closed, we are drawn to beauty of all but the windows to the soul. Wonderful arches highlight and enhance beautifully-shaped eyes under closed lids with curled lashes that flatter them even more. A flawless complexion covers a wonderfully constructed face that boasts of full pink and parted lips that cover white teeth and with the closed eyes convey an expression of ecstasy. A spray of blue across one eye and an artful, climbing blue design below give added expression and beauty to the face.

As if in communion with the Divine, the upraised chin and innocent eyes look heavenward to the light from above as the hands so gracefully envelop the face. Silver eyelashes and a wash of silvery rubble on the side of the face and neck indicate a transformation of the soul.

Love the concept since it has many possible interpretations and is thereby greatly symbolic. It can represent the neural pathways of the brain or perhaps even representative of people involved in global networking. Eyebrows tinged in white continue this thought, perhaps showing the connection of the network with the mind through the eyes. Interesting is that we see two eyes, both very attractive, but one inside the network is light, while the other eye just outside the network is darkly shaded, almost as if conveying the idea that outside the network our intellect is perhaps not as vivid and unenlightened. Beautiful lighting shows great dimensions of the face and shoulders, but again we have to wonder why it is that the light peaks at the frontal lobe of the brain where language and planning is centered in the mind. Of course, the banded neck and the black lips may foretell of dangers of the network, perhaps even stifling the tongue. Very beautiful and intriguing image.
