Them Jeans

And we all thought bright colored skinny jeans were specifically designed for one gender. But no, the latest style in pants is up for grabs for both men and women. Why should it be a surprise? Pants are the only things men ever really wear when it comes to A-list junctures, short pants for a few casual occasions but not unless it’s a very ordinary day. But what do they often wear really? Just denims, khakis or slacks; there’s much to say about men’s suits, tops, jackets, hats, and shoes, but the jeans are just getting kind of boring. This year’s spring fashion has proven that stereotype wrong. Men’s jeans are just as interesting as women’s jeans now.
Denims are never out of style, but today, rugged denims are back. When did they ever disappear? They do, every once in a while. But this year’s remake of rugged jeans is carefully designed. They’re cut in style and made to fade with precision. Even formal wear such as black leather shoes and a coat and tie are paired with torn jeans. Torn jeans are no longer the belongings of a rock star. They too, are worn by men of different personalities and with different tastes in styles.
Colored jeans are also very much in. Skinny or straight-cut, bright hues are a big part of men’s trousers today. There are plain and bright colored jeans in sea green, yellow, magenta, turquoise, orange, in shades of white, and more. Men’s pants come in like a roll of lifesavers and take note, it’s no longer considered gay. It’s referred to as the modern trend; bold and expressive, full of life, and extremely artistic. Colored jeans are preferably paired with black leather jackets, dark coat and tie, and other plain jackets or sweaters. They are also paired with leather shoes and colored loafers.
Even Levi Strauss, known for ultimately paying attention to authentic jeans now produces a colourful sort. What used to be a man’s closet of blacks and browns and blues, is now more attractive and playful than ever before.
Checks and plaids are also dominant this year. Such designs have always been the leader in pants, shorts, and button down shirts. And now checks and plaids are playfully mixed and matched with both dull colored and very bright colored clothing pieces. Plaids bring about a stylish, smart casual look. Men love checks because they’re the only patterned prints that can go with just about anything. And since this season is about mixed patterns and bold colors, checks and plaids are sure to be seen a lot now and then.
Folded jeans were once so effeminate and not for painting the town red. But now, folded jeans are also back, and are more significant than ever. They were a big part of this year’s spring fashion shows. Slacks, denims, colored, and faded jeans all had their own versions of pants with folds at the end. Folded pants are perfectly paired with tennis shoes and plain button down shirts, cardigan sweaters, t-shirts, or blazers. For a smarter look, add a brown leather belt and a fedora hat.
